Whether you like bird watching, or recording plantlife, or bugs, we need help to monitor and record the area's wildlife.
We will developing monitoring projects for our main habitats, particularly where we are restoring areas and carrying out management for specific species. We are also going to be training up our farmers so that they can carry out some simple walkover surveys.
We already have some baseline information about many of our sites, including measurements on Okeover's ancient and veteran trees, which have helped us understand the age of the parkland's tree population.
We have many more opportunities for long term monitoring for breeding wader populations, vegetation monitoring for our grassland restoration work, woodland birds, dead wood, invertebrates and fungi. We are particularly interested in collaborating with universities and local recording groups. Please contact us to find out more.
