We are working hard to help wildlife on our farms by restoring a number of habitats and re-establishing important native plants into our fields, which provide the basic needs for many different insects, animals and birds to live, allowing them to feed, breed and rest.
Can you help us do more?
We are looking for community groups and schools to help us with a project to grow wild plants from seed harvested from local areas so that we can restore our habitats more successfully.
We're setting up projects to collect, grow and plant a range of species from local native trees to woodland flora and meadow wildflowers.
The aim is to increase areas that are rich in wildflowers and shrubs, and which will attract and support a whole variety of fauna including bees, beetles, butterflies, spiders, seed eating and insectivorous farmland birds of local priority, such as Linnets and Grey Partridge and mammals, particularly Brown Hare.
We want to use locally grown plants to:
Restore areas of grassland.
Create the next generation of ancient and veteran trees to help restore parkland.
Undertake hedgerow and woodland enhancement.
Generate nectar rich field margins to benefit bees and other pollinators.
leading the way in creating environmentally sustainable & biodiverse farmscapes.
