Robert and Vernon Pilkington run a dairy herd and balance the needs of the farm with managing a variety of habitats.
They are restoring over 30 acres of species-rich pasture, including some damp short turf supporting the uncommon semi-parasite, lousewort and are encouraging lapwing to nest annually on an old airfield.
The main farm area is connected by a network of hedgerows which knit the fields into a patchwork from the river up to the farm.
leading the way in creating environmentally sustainable & biodiverse farmscapes.
