Restoring historic & landscape features – Oldfields Farm

Farm landscape with stone walls

The Peak Park Conservation Volunteers (PPCV) and Fit4Work team have helped to restore stonewalls and an historic dew pond at Oldfields Farm.

The work has been funded by Severn-Trent but couldn’t have been achieved without the help of volunteers.

Stonewalls are an important feature of the farm and are maintained in a traditional way using local stone. The dew pond once used to water livestock will now be able to once again support aquatic species and have already been used by the population of swallows nesting on the farm for feeding this summer.
