Making more meadows better – Farming in Protected Landscapes

wildflower meadow

Through Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) funding, we are able to work with a group of volunteers to help restore over 14 ha of grassland and gather data on 26 ha on 4 farms. We hope this will lead to better quality and more diverse grasslands but also help members to secure schemes or options on the land through the Sustainable Farming Incentive and support the long term management of these sites.

Our nursery

Our amazing volunteers have been helping to collect wildflower seed and growing wildflowers in our small nursery in Mayfield. These plants and seed will be used this autumn to enhance the meadows.
