Waterings Farm
"It's a family affair this farming lark!"
Mark and Donna Barber, with the help of their 3 children, run a mixed beef and sheep farm in the Peak District National Park. Calves and lambs are sold as stores with some retained for breeding.
With a mixture of pasture including hay meadows and wetland, their farm supports good populations of ground nesting birds particularly Lapwing, Curlew and Skylark, where a varied sward structure is created by their mixed grazing system.
They also manage about 25 acres of species-rich wet grassland, which contains a number of plants that prefer damp conditions including Ragged-Robin, Greater Bird's-Foot-Trefoil and sedges.
leading the way in creating environmentally sustainable & biodiverse farmscapes.
