Wilf Ward has been farming in the area for over 40 years, managing a 50 acre Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which is home to some rare assemblages of plants including Creeping Willow, Sawwort and at least 5 different species of orchid.
His dairy herd is employed carefully to manage the wildlife-rich areas to best effect. His animals are fed on some excellent quality hay made from these diverse areas, along with modern forage crops from the more intensive areas of the farm, which sustain milk production.
leading the way in creating environmentally sustainable & biodiverse farmscapes.
